Communities in Transition: Building Capacity

The Programme aims to support the development of community and voluntary sector capacity in The Mount and Ballymacarrett areas of East Belfast, while continuing to build stronger, more effective organisations who are better able to deliver positive change within their communities.

NICVA are working in partnership with East Belfast Community Development Agency and the programme will run between April 2020 and March 2021.

Communities in Transition is funded by The Executive Office and managed by Co-operation Ireland.

Who is it for?

The programme is exclusively for organisations, (including Trustees, Board, Staff and Volunteers) in the following areas of East Belfast:

  • The Mount 1
  • The Mount 2
  • Ballymacarrett 1
  • Ballymacarrett 2
  • Ballymacarrett 3

What can you expect?

  • Free Governance Support and Health Check for your organisation.
  • A mentoring and advice programme to support your organisation, staff and volunteers, including access to a range of experts and one-to-one support in financial planning, HR, fundraising, governance, risk assessment, volunteer management and event management.
  • A wide variety of high-quality accredited training and development opportunities, tailored to meet the needs of your organisation, staff and volunteers including topics such as leadership and management, coaching and mentoring, project planning and development.
  • A bursary to develop a civic engagement project with a partner organisation, which will encourage collaboration and greater community engagement.
